(Part 1, by Caitlin) --

Caitlin approached the barn, the fresh scent of apple giving away the human occupant. The tall trader smiled that the lass had enough forethought to still think of a treat for the horses after such a night as she had so far. The warrior sensed great promise in this little thief, and was committed to giving her best to help this girl learn of her own worth.

It was Killian who had suggested Caitlin get involved in the young rascals life, after several ill adventures gone sour. Killian wasn’t so far from remembering what this one woman had done for a teenage her, with the help of much training, and a very firm and oft used hand and switch, and occasionally the dreaded belt.

~~~~~
“Caitlin,” Killian had said over lunch at the cabin Aria had built for them. It had been a stormy night, and the clouds were just beginning to clear into a dewy fresh late morning. They sat on the back porch which looked over the lake. The Lodge could be seen from here, but no forms made out in the distance. The two sat on the cushioned couch Aria had made especially for the often chilly lass. It had a compartment with a wool, and cashmere lined blanket for her to curl up in, which she was doing right now, as she ate cheese and crackers off of a board setting on a small wooden table in front of them.
“How do you feel about Kaie?” The healer took another bite of cheese and waited.
Caitlin looked at Killian with that “look”. The one that says, How could I possibly want anything or anyone but you, ever.
“Caitlin, sweetheart,” Killian reached her hand over to cup her much larger handed soul-mate. “I don’t mean in that way. I mean, in the, doesn’t she kinda remind you of somebody way.”
“Hmm.” Caitlin breathed out, thanking Grace that Killian would not come to doubt her. She had been thinking a lot of Kaie lately, but not sexually. It was insistent though, and persistent. “I know I have a desire to put her over my knee, a lot.”
“Yes, I thought as much. She gets to you, I can see it. But it is more than that. I don’t think she irritates you, does she?” Killian spotted a Hawk off in the distance, and pointed it out to a thinking Caitlin. They both knew it was a sign.
Caitlin spoke, “I worry that if she isn’t helped soon, she will take off again, and be lost to that world of thieving, and running that she has been so caught up in. I can’t let it happen, and I don’t know why I care so damn much.” Caitlin slammed the palm of her hand on the table, nearly knocking everything off of it. She broke a small saucer, and her hand started to bleed.
Killian grabbed a napkin as Caitlin swore a blue streak, and wrapped her partners hand lovingly.
“Caitlin, I need to get my kit for this. Hold your hand up above your heart, and I will be right back. While I am gone, think of who that reminds you of, and why you are so mad.” Caitlin held up her hand and watched Killian walk away, knowing the lass knew the answer, and that is when it struck her.
“She reminds me of you.” Caitlin said softly to no one.
Killian returned with her kit, and lovingly worked on Caitlin’s hand, as the trader watched her with a new preciousness.
“You are beautiful in this light, Killian.” The lass shook her head, blushing in surprise at the out of nowhere compliment.
“Caitlin, are you alright? Are you sure you didn’t hit your head?” Killian said mockingly.
“Can’t I enjoy the most amazing gift in my life, and tell her once in a while?” Caitlin said as she parted Killian’s soft hair with her good hand. The trader kissed the blushing Killian softly, as if kissing a rose petal, not wishing it to fall off of the blossom.
“She reminds me of you, Killian. I can’t let her throw her life away, if I can do something about it.”
Killian brushed Caitlin’s cheek, and pulled a tear from her own eye to sit upon her lover’s lips. “I think you should see if she would like a Mentor, Caitlin. Alison has the protection thing already covered, but who is there to teach her the things you taught me that kept me from running, and hating, and-“
Caitlin put a soft finger to Killian’s lips. “I’ll do it.”
“You will?” Killian was in shock Caitlin would do this so easily.
“Killian. I see her spark. I see her chance. I also see in her eyes that need to run coming back. She is afraid of getting too close to us, or having them find her. We have to find out what she fears, and help her solve that issue, or she may be lost to us forever.”
~~~~~

Caitlin stepped into the barn to see a girl ready to try. Ready to let Caitlin give this a shot.

“Ok, Kaie, let’s see what we can find out there tonight.”

(Part 2 by Kaie) --

Kaie slipped the tiny bag of gems back into her cloak and loosened Flames reins to lead her outside, following the Trader and her own mount. She was surprised to see Caitlin looking so, well pleased. Must been one hell of a four candle marks for her. Her grin faded fast and her sour mood returned when she remembered her own had not been quite so fulfilling.

As she placed her foot ready to mount Kaie bit her lip hard. Both horses warned her earlier not to make a peep of discomfort or attempt to complain. She was determined to stay out of further trouble for the night. Slowly she eased herself down and a sharp intake of air was the only sound that betrayed her pain. When Caitlin asked her if she was ready she bit back her complaints and managed a simple, “Yes Caitlin,” and they were off.

Caitlin almost smiled in the darkness. The girl seemed to be making a big effort tonight to do things right. She had expected to start the night off with an immediate lesson on how whining was not an option. Once again, the thief had surprised her. Maybe the girl was learning something at last.

Flame kept her pace fluid and smooth just as she had promised her Killian. After the first few minutes Kaie found the pain tolerable and attempted to concentrate on the sights around her. She still wasn’t sure why Caitlin wanted her along on these patrols, she wasn’t going to be much use if they ran into trouble, unless she needed someone to run for help. It shocked her that the trader would even want her tagging along, it was probably more a punishment for Caitlin then for her.

“Kaie, do you know how to tell when our patrol is finished, when to return to the Lodge?”

Caitlin turned her gaze from the sky to the thief, who was struggling to come up with an answer that she hoped was the right one.

Goddess, is this a trick question? What does she mean how do I tell when to go back? Hellooooo anyone want to help? Twin snorts let her know neither mount would be helping for now. Great, it must be a trick question.

“Umm, when you say we go back Caitlin?” The traders look turned hard for a brief minute until she realized that Kaie was being sincere. She did not understand what Caitlin meant and was scared that not knowing would cost her somehow, but she wasn’t trying to be smart with her answer.

She hid the hint of a smile that came to her lips at the answer, she didn’t want to go too soft on the girl just yet. “True, it won’t be over until I say it is over, but I meant can you tell the time from the sky Kaie. Have you been taught to do that before?”

Kaie was just relieved that Caitlin didn’t take offense. Glancing up at the sky she shook her head from side to side. She never learned to use the moons for telling time, she never had time. She was used to running from the time the shadows first appeared until mid-morning when there were few shadows to hide in. Then she would hide until afternoon, and begin again. She kept that to herself though and answered simply, “No Caitlin I don’t know how.”

Caitlin nodded and began an explanation of the positioning of the moon and its corresponding times. Flame stumbled slightly on a loose stone and Kaie coughed loudly to cover the curse that escaped when her backside was slammed uncomfortably against the leather saddle.

She tried hard to listen to the Traders words, telling time by the moons seemed like something that might be useful to know someday. Kaie was never good at listening for long though and her impatience was setting in fast. It was a long day for her, she was throbbing in all the wrong places, and now she was moon watching. She felt her mind drifting and she started thinking about her Aunt Serrah and if she would ever learn something useful to help kill her. Telling time by the moons wouldn’t help her with that. Why not learn something about fighting?

She jumped and her thoughts came crashing back to reality when Flames tail whipped around to slap lightly at her leg. She suddenly realized they had stopped moving and Caitlin was looking at her with that, I expect an answer now Kaie look.

“I, uh,” She searched her mind desperately trying to recall a question being asked but it was no use, she hadn’t heard a word the trader said for the last ten minutes.

“Kaie, you were listening to me yes?”

She bobbed her head up and down slowly, hoping it would be enough to appease the trader.

“Good, then show me where the moon will sit when our patrol is over.”

Oh damn, double damn. She listened hard but both horses seemed to have grown suddenly mute. Neither of them really wanted to see the girl in trouble, but they were determined to let her learn something on her own from the trader, rather then return to her running. Besides Kiera was Caitlin’s horse, and she didn’t appreciate the girl just ignoring her while she wasted all that breath showing her something important.

“Show me sometime before the moon actually reaches that point Kaie.” Caitlin was getting “that” look now. She’d seen the faraway look on Kaie’ face and knew the girl hadn’t heard one word, now she was going to see if she admitted to it or made some lame attempt at pretending she was paying attention.

Kaie started to lift her arm and point to a spot, any damn spot, then realized her night was rapidly spiraling downward again but she didn’t have the desire to lie outright. With a sigh she dropped her hand back to the saddle.

“I don’t, I mean that I can’t, err surely there’s something else I could learn? Like how to use a sword, maybe a bow? I always wanted to learn to use on of those. Telling time isn’t too important is it?” Kaie was talking fast, habit for her when she was nervous, or attempting to talk her way around something. She didn’t have to look up at Caitlin’s face to see it wasn’t working, the horses said it for her.

(Part 3 by Caitlin) --

“Flame. Come up here beside me.” Kaie tried instinctively to reign in the horse, but Flame had thoughts of her own. Someone was getting into trouble, and it wasn’t going to be Flame.

“Put the reigns down, Kaie” Caitlin took on that low vibrating, damn it was sexy, voice. ‘shut up, Kaie.’ Kaie said to herself as she dropped the reigns, and waited.

“Give me your right hand.” Kaie felt the tears begin leaking, as her center clenched and unclenched a few times. She couldn’t just let this happen. She kicked at Flame, to no avail.

“Kaie. Your horse isn’t moving, but you are, now give me your hand, or you will walk the rest of this night.”

Kaie snapped her head left to get a good look at the Trader. She wasn’t kidding. How could Kaie walk? She didn’t know where they were, she would die out here. Is this bitch nuts? The slap of flames tail against her leg brought her back to the present. ‘Shit, shit, shit.’ She swallowed, extending her right hand to Caitlin.

The Warrior slid back behind her own saddle as she yanked hard, literally tossing Kaie over the seat of her saddle. The thief wasn’t given a moment to take a breath before a fierce barrage a spanks landed dead center on her seat.

Kaie had held it together in front of the lodgers, but out here there was no one to impress. She wailed as the spanking came again in a second fiercer set of firm hard swats. She felt it below too, as her core throbbed, begging for any kind of attention. Lady Alison leaving her hot and very bothered had done anything for her already short attention span. Now this.

Suddenly, she heard it. “Spread your legs.” Kaie felt her heart jump up into her throat.

An extremely hard swat followed.

“I said, open your legs.”

Kaie stopped breathing, but did as told. The Traders hard hand was unusually soft as it slipped one solitary finger down the crack of Kaie’s very wet center.

Kaie jumped at the contact. The finger disappeared to be followed by another longer volley of swats, this time stretched out so each would make contact just as the last peaked with pain. Kaie’s head was spinning now, and she couldn’t stop the gulping tears from falling.

Then it stopped again.

“Now,” Caitlin began, as her hand softly caressed Kaie’s inner thigh. “When I touch you, Kaie, you don’t move, unless I tell you that you may move. Is that clear?”

The hand softly Creeped up a calf-skinned legging, making gentle distracting circles.

“Um, yes, no, I mean. I won’t move until you tell me.” Damn, she thought she would never get that out.

The finger came back, and caressed a sogging set of britches.

Kaie moaned into the saddle, and prayed for Caitlin to never stop.

“I will give you a choice, Kaie.” Caitlin’s voice had lowered to the deepest register.

The finger continued it’s slide up and down the thief’s soft center, causing near delirium in her captive.

“Ok.” Was all Kaie could squeak out and still focus heroically on not trying to ride that finger to freedom.

“You have already earned yourself a sound spanking, with no bonus prize, at the end of our ride, and one at the beginning of our ride tomorrow night.”

Caitlin added a finger to her workings as Kaie let this information sink in.

“Tonight you have a choice. You get this,” she wiggled her fingers and Kaie about shrieked, but held it back with tremendous effort. “Every time we stop to discipline you.”

Kaie thought her night was looking up.

“Or,” Caitlin found the opening in Kaie’s britches, and slipped two fingers in, eliciting a serious squiggling moan.

Fingers came out and a hot swat jolted Kaie into reality.

“No, Kaie, you do not call the shots here. This is where you learn to obey.”

Another round of swats brought fresh tears, and sobs.

Caitlin stopped and re-inserted two fingers slightly into Kaie, who could do nothing but moan, and quietly beg for more.

“Or, we can get off these horses now, where I will take you over there, by the waterfall, sit down as you strip, lay across my lap, and to a sound spanking, I give you the release you so desperately seek.”

Kaie was about to scream, ‘Yes, Goddess, Yes,’ when Caitlin added.

“You will then dress, and every other punishment tonight will be non-sexual in any way, and I think you can guess how often that will be.”

Kaie was stunned by the decision.

“Your call.”

Caitlin waited.

(Part 4 by kaie) --

Kaie wiped a few tears away stalling for time while she pondered over the choice before her. She was still reeling over the promise of a "sound" spanking at the end of their night, and another before they begin tomorrow? Surely Caitlin didn’t think that the one she just gave was anything less then sound? I mean, did this woman even KNOW how to give any other kind?

Now she had a huge decision to make. Ohhh Goddess how she wanted that release right now. Then again there was the promise of that wondrous touch continuing through the night, since Kaie was now firmly convinced there would be more stops ending with her over Caitlin’s lap.

With a groan she remembered the words from Lady Alison before she left earlier. No release from any warrior, or herself until she had fulfilled her promise and asked the Gentle Warrior for it. Her body screamed for release now, and those fingers were slowly driving her mad. Caitlin wouldn’t know about that little deal though would she? And Kaie wouldn’t have to tell anyone. But then again, she would be breaking her word to the Lady Alison. Surely she would understand though, after all this was THE sexy Caitlin whose fingers were so skillfully playing her body.

Another jolting swat landed before Caitlin rested her hand for a minute on Kaie’s scorched backside, letting her know that time was running out for a decision. She asked again in that resonating deep voice that caused new shivers to break out in the thief, "Well Kaie? We do have a patrol to finish so what will it be?"

Oh damn, damn, damn! This was so hard. But, wait a minute...what if Caitlin DID speak to Lady A before coming downstairs earlier. After all Kaie was in the stables for several minutes before Caitlin arrived. What if she already knew about what happened? This could be a test… she could be setting herself up for a worse punishment if she kept quiet about the truth, almost the same thing as a lie. Kaie struggled for a minute as the throbbing pulsed through her from top to bottom, demanding attention.

She wasn’t sure she could handle a whole night of being on the edge this way, but even worse she couldn’t handle breaking her word either. She sniffed hard, clearing her throat that was a bit scratchy from her desperate crying a few moments earlier.

"I..I can’t have a …I mean you can’t….no release yet" She tried to speak clear but her voice was low with embarrassment and disappointment from having to say the words aloud.

Caitlin shifted just a bit and Kaie winced instinctively bracing herself for another volley of spanks. Instead, the trader lifted her effortlessly, planting her firmly in the saddle in front of her to look her in the eyes.

Kaie bit her lip hard but couldn’t prevent the groan of discomfort from escaping as she found herself fighting the urge to slide out of the saddle and stand. Caitlin’s look kept her firmly in place and although her eyes watered she stayed as still as possible. She wasn’t ready to go another round with that hand anytime soon. A hand on her chin prevented her from finding a good spot on the ground to stare intently at while Caitlin demanded a better answer and explanation.

"You cant release? You will explain that statement Kaie, and I wouldn’t suggest leaving any details out."

Kaie nodded her understanding of that command and blinked to clear her eyes before taking a deep breath. She was fighting the urge not to squirm in the saddle, she would do anything for a more comfortable position right now.

She tried to speak clear, although her voice quivered a little with arousal. Slowly she spilled the story to Caitlin of her forgetfulness and lack of control earlier and the resulting orders from Lady Alison. The trader gave nothing away in her expression and she listened until Kaie lowered her gaze again with a whispered, "That’s all of it really."

"Hmm I see."

She saw? She saw what?? Did that mean she already knew or she didn’t? Does that mean she would ease up on her teasing, since Kaie ‘fessed up the truth or was she going to use it make her suffer more through the night? Kaie bit her lip to keep from asking and waited, trying to ignore the overwhelming throb that alternated from her center to her backside and back again.

(Part 5 by Caitlin) --

Caitlin nodded her head slowly in recognition of Kaie’s confession. “So you have decided to go with the truth then, young thief.” Caitlin’s piecing blue eyes bore into her captive. “You made a wise choice, for a lie would have gotten you a punishment I won’t even utter here.”

Kaie sat back, stunned, forgetting momentarily about the pain on her backside.

“You knew?” Kaie’s eyes were pinned on the warrior, her breath still in her frozen in place body.

“I knew.” Caitlin said simply, as she lifted an eyebrow. “I needed to know if you were worth my time. If the thief and liar you were when you came to us still held sway over you, when tempted beyond relief.”

Kaie breathed out, suddenly woozy with the thought that she nearly did herself in. She wondered if Caitlin knew how close to lying she came, and if she would ask her now. Suddenly a desire to run overtook the lass, and she tried to bolt from Flames back.

Caitlin had prepared for this, and grabbed the girl up into the seat, forcing her down with a thud, reminding Kaie of the pain. “Son of a Bachae’s Balls! That hurt!”

“It hurt, but not as much as you would have if you ran right now, or lied, then. The fact is, I tested you with the thing I knew you wanted most of all.” Caitlin gave Kaie a moment for this to sink in.

“You passed the test, Kaie. You passed the test with flying colors in my book.” Caitlin actually smiled, a scene Kaie would never tire of on their long nights out in the wild of the countryside.

“I will now officially agree to Mentor you. You had asked if I would consider teaching you what I could, and I have. These patrols are actually your gift, Kaie, not your punishment.” Caitlin waited to see if Kaie would agree with that premise.

“Wow.” It was now Kaie’s turn to beam. “You will Mentor me? For real?”

“Yes. I will. Now, I take this seriously, so know that it means you now not only answer to your Protector, the Lady Alison, but that you will also answer to me. Can you accept that, Kaie?”

Kaie paused as the reality of that overtook her. She had a chance to lie, yet she inexplicably told the truth, and it set her free. Her excitement was palpable.

“YES, Caitlin, I accept. Oh yes, I accept!” Kaie reached out to hug Caitlin, who pulled back, holding her instead by the shoulders.

“Kaie, there is one more thing. This may affect your true answer.” Kaie was hurt that Caitlin didn’t allow the hug, and held her breath at the idea of something else unpleasant.

“My true sexual allegiance is to Killian only. I will during our time together, keep you on the edge, at times, as I did tonight. I think it serves you to have to learn to think even when aroused. It sharpens the senses, and it will give your choice of bedmates plenty to work with. However, I will not be going any further with you than I have tonight. Even less far. I will not touch your bare skin in a sexual way, only torturous teasing through your clothing. Killian gets me sexually, and she is the only one who gets that particular gift. That will not change. Can you accept that, young Kaie?”

The disappointment in Kaie’s eyes couldn’t be hidden from Caitlin. But there was something else... relief. Kaie didn’t know how Killian felt about Caitlin being sexual with her, and now she wouldn’t have to feel uncomfortable around someone who had been so kind to her, and taken her in before all others dared.

Kaie smiled, “I accept, Caitlin. I respect your relationship with Killian, and wouldn’t want to get in the way of that at all.”

“I appreciate that, Kaie. Trust me, Killian is behind all of this activity, and I will not let anyone come between her and me. I will make sure that never happens, so you can rest easy.”

Caitlin noticed the visible relief in the smaller woman. ‘Cares for Killian, quite deeply. Yes, I think this girl is worth the trouble.’ Caitlin thought.

“Ok, Kaie, now that you passed this test, let’s get you back on your horse, and see if you can’t stay there for the better part of the rest of this Patrol.”

It was not a question. Kaie was being told to behave, and listen up. It would be up to her, she knew, to see if she had the self control to stay seated, or, would she end up over Caitlin’s saddle again before this night passed. She would have to see.

(Part 6, by Kaie) --

Kaie rode the rest of the night wearing a silly grin broken only occasionally by a wince of pain when her backside met the saddle a little too firmly. She was still dizzy with relief that her choice to tell the truth was the right one this time. Her excitement at the prospect of learning something other then thieving kept her attention centered on Caitlin and to the amazement of them both the Trader’s words actually began to sink in.

Within an hour Caitlin repeated her lesson on telling the time of night by the position of the moon and Kaie was able to recite it back to her nearly perfectly. She was also learning her way around the borders of the outlying lands that surrounded the Lodge when she sensed a break in the shadows and pointed below the ridge to a small point of light.

"Hunters more then likely," Caitlin nodded with satisfaction at her observation. The young thief had good eyes in the darkness and attention to detail when you caught her focus long enough. "That’s just outside the border of our lands though, they won’t be a threat to us." As she turned Kiera to continue on she noticed Kaie was not moving and had grown very pale. She knew the girl feared being chased again, but she kept her reasons hidden well, another habit that needed changing.

"Kaie look at me." She had to repeat herself twice before Kaie blinked and took a breath, turning to face her. "I’ll want to know why you look ready to faint at the sight of strangers. You aren’t the thief you were when you came here, you’ve proved that to me already, but you still fear something." A set of blue eyes locked with wide green ones as Caitlin made herself clear. "As your mentor I will know what or who drives you to flee so often, and you can consider that anything but a request."

Kaie glanced back down to the distant glow of firelight and took a deep breath to steady the hammering of her heart. She hadn’t meant to panic like that but old habits died hard. She shook her head slightly reminding herself that Serrah’s henchmen were dead all but one, and he had carried the tale of her death long and far she hoped. It had been over a month now and no one came to verify the truth, or to seek her out so the account surely was believed.

Realizing that she was now facing the highly arched eyebrow of doom after shaking her head in what appeared to be a refusal she coughed and stammered, "Oh! I didn’t mean…I was just thinking about.." Her words trailed off when she noticed what she now recognized as a bemused look on the Traders face. Caitlin knew Kaie wasn’t telling her no, but she did enjoy the way the little thief squirmed under her glare.

‘Hmph! And they say she has no sense of humor…might scare the piddly out of you but I guess it passes for a sense of humor.’ Not that she dared to say it out loud although both horses nickered their amusement with her thoughts.

Flame fell in beside Kiera as they moved again and Kaie struggled to find the words. Her past was still painful to her and the telling of it was not easy. She shared some with Lady Alison that first night she was punished by Caitlin, and tonight she shared it again with someone who took a chance in her. She spoke quietly while they rode, and found Caitlin easier to talk to then she thought. The trader listened and never interrupted even when Kaie found herself pausing to compose her emotions once or twice. Her hatred for Serrah couldn’t be disguised in her voice, and she told only the truth about her Aunt’s betrayal and all events leading up to her arrival to the Lodge, with the exception of her "adventure" in meeting Epona.

Caitlin looked thoughtful when she came to the end of her tale, but made no judgment, only reassuring her that this was a safe place where she was protected and among family. "And for now they think you dead little thief. Best leave it that way and stay put close to the Lodge where you are cared for and protected. I’d hang on to those gems of yours too, they might draw some unwanted attention to you." Her tone as usual didn’t leave much room for discussions on the matter, although Kaie chafed at the thought of having someone nearby for "protection" all the time. Not that she thought saying so would have a productive effect on anything other then her pain level so she settled for nodding and murmuring a noncommittal, "Right Caitlin."

Caitlin reined in once again as they drew closer to the familiar setting of the Lodge at the end of their patrol. She would talk more with Kaie about her past soon, she wanted to discuss it with Killian first, it was clear the girl had her reasons for running and it would take some time to get her past those feelings. She also had a strong taste for revenge which would need addressing as well. With family like hers, it was no wonder the young thief had trouble trusting anyone and still fought the protection and love she was receiving from her new family.

Kaie looked around in confusion when they stopped once again. Her mind was already turning towards the promise of a nice warm bed and some sleep, on her stomach of course, as soon as Flame was unsaddled and rubbed down for some well deserved rest. She planned to go prepare a nice tray of tea and breakfast for Picifico and Lady Alison once the night was over. She would leave it for them while they slept, along with a simple note for Lady A that consisted of one word, PLEASE.

She checked the sky again, using what Caitlin taught her and confirmed that it was nearly time for their patrol to end. They were finished for the night and there was nothing else left to do before they….oh Holy Minotaur Manure! She considered running again but knew Flame wouldn’t cooperate and she doubted she had the energy for it now.

Caitlin sat for a minute and watched the realization cross the little thief’ face. She didn’t make idle threats or promises and Kaie was learning that all too soon. Unfortunately for Kaie, she didn’t forget anything she said either. She was glad to see that Kaie didn’t attempt to escape this time, maybe that particular lesson was starting to sink in.

"I think you know we have one more thing to attend to Kaie before we are finished." Caitlin watched the younger woman shift uncomfortably in her saddle, knowing what was coming but not yet willing to admit it. "Tell me what I said would happen at the end of our patrol Kaie, and at the beginning of the next one."

Kaie had prayed Caitlin might forget, or even forgo this when she so nicely passed her test and all. Hells bells! she even managed to pay attention the rest of the night and not get into anymore trouble. Her pallid complexion was lost as a steady blushing pink burned its way up her neck to the tips of her ears.

"Growing forgetful again already Kaie? Maybe you need a refresher on the last lesson about paying attention." Caitlin didn’t have to lift a finger, just the threat was enough to loosen Kaie’s jaws although her answer was barely above a whisper.

"You...you said you would give me a s...sound spanking at the end of patrol tonight Caitlin." Kaie felt her cheeks burning but they weren’t the burning cheeks she was most concerned with right now. She had no idea how Caitlin’s idea of a "sound" spanking would differ from the other thorough ones she endured already and she was afraid she was about to find out.

____****____

(Part 7 by Caitlin) --

“Kaie, for your privacy I would rather spank you right here and now, so that there would be no chance of anyone at the Lodge hearing you crying out from the pain, and possibly embarrassing you. However, I also don’t want you to have to sit a horse after this last punishment has taken place.”

Kaie visibly stiffened at the thought of having to get back in the saddle after receiving whatever Caitlin called a ‘sound’ spanking. The lass got a tad pale, but otherwise kept her mount.

“Caitlin? May I speak?” Kaie’s voice cracked with emotion.

“Yes, of course, go ahead.”

“W..Well. If it is all the same to you, Caitlin, I would rather wait until we get into the stable. I really don’t want to have to sit up on Flame for one more moment, after, if it is all the same to you.” Kaie breathed in heavily. She had not realized she had been holding her breath until now. She nearly fell off Flame when Caitlin cleared her throat.

“Sounds good to me, Kaie. My thoughts were along those lines as well. Didn’t want you suffering any undo pain, when it wasn’t necessary. Ok, let’s get back then. And Kaie.” Caitlin turned in her saddle to face her young charge. “After a rough start, you did really well tonight. I am quite proud of you. It took Killian three tries to be able to tell time by the moon’s location. She’ll be really proud of you when I tell her what a quick study you are. You keep this up, and you’re gonna make me hafta learn new things, just to teach you.” The Trader flashed a rare miraculous smile, then set Kiera to a full gallop.

Flame waited in the dust with a stunned Kaie, having heard herself what the warrior just said. After a few seconds of simple jaw dropped staring, Kaie’s mouth reflexively slid into a huge smile, and she nudged Flame, giving her her full head to catch up with Caitlin.

~~~~~
Caitlin was seated quietly on a bale of hay covered with a horse blanket at the far end of the stables, near the tack room. Kaie felt compelled to ride through the stables, rather than dismount and walk, as was custom. Something in Caitlin’s demeanor drew Kaie to her without hesitation. The thief dismounted in a near haze, never taking her eyes off of the intense eyed Trader. Kaie was mesmerized as never before by the striking woman seated before her. Caitlin’s carriage and temperance were that of any Noble woman from her Court, yet there was something feral and un-tamable in Caitlin’s countenance as well. The young charge set her horse to rest in the open paddock nearest to Caitlin, knowing she would return soon to unsaddle and wipe down her new friend. Kaie closed the newly oiled latch on the gate, turned and walked the ten steps to stand a foot in front of her new Mentor.
“Kaie,” Caitlin nearly whispered. “I’ll have ya across my lap now.”
Kaie swallowed. Her mouth had suddenly gone dry, and she ached for a drink of water. Her heart also chose this time to jump up into her throat and pound as if it wanted to burst. Kaie’s breathing became very shallow. She tried, but found herself frozen in place.
Caitlin had seen this before, many times in fact. She smiled slightly as she recalled Killian being stuck like this one time, lashing out, shouting at her, “You are so damned compelling, I simply can’t think straight, you harlot from Hades!” Killian got a hand that night, and a whipping she still speaks of to this day. Caitlin focused.
“Give me your hand, Kaie.” Caitlin spoke softly, she had learned that hard was not always the best way to teach.
Kaie held out her hand as if possessed.
Caitlin gripped Kaie’s hand and gently guided her over her lap. The trader slowly caressed her charges bottom with the full palm of her hand, awakening the fire that lay just beneath the surface all evening, since the first punishment.
Kaie’s center lay pressing, and soaked against Caitlin’s strong thigh. The lass cried out, unable to stop all the pent up need and want from spilling out of her.
Caitlin aimed the full force of her first few strikes, directing Kaie’s center to press again and again hard into Caitlin’s now very wet thigh.
Kaie bit her lip as moans escaped her lips along with yelps.
Slap!
Slap!
Slap!
Slap!
After about the eighth swat, Kaie’s moans shifted and became more urgent. She began unconsciously to ride Caitlin’s thigh, hoping against hope to find the orgasm she sought.
“Ah, ah, ah.” Caitlin stated as she shifted Kaie up and over her lap, leaving her center exposed, and unable to make contact with any thigh. “No release for you, Kaie. Not with me. Not ever with me. Only torment. And more torment.”
A quick ten swats followed which retuned Kaie’s focus to the pain of her ordeal.
“Now, my torment.” Caitlin slipped her hand under Kaie’s belly, coming to rest on her soaking center. “Is not without some reward.” Caitlin began to slide the outside of Kaie’s swollen clit, as she returned to a vigorous spanking. “When you do as well as you did for most of our Patrol.”
The spanking intensified as did the caressing. Caitlin would bring Kaie to the edge then back down, only to lift her back up to the edge again, repeating this routine until Kaie was totally spent.
When Caitlin finished with Kaie, she was horse from crying and begging, as well as nearly unable to walk from shear exhaustion. Caitlin lifted the girl up, to stand in front of her.
“You handled your first ever night of Patrol well, Kaie. I couldn’t be prouder of you. I don’t expect every Patrol you join me on to be this lively, but that will be entirely up to you.”
Caitlin stood and folded the horse-blanket, returning it to it’s tack box as Kaie stood, wiping tears and sleep from her eyes.
“Kaie,” Caitlin lifted the large bale of hay, tossing it with one hand up into the hayloft as she watched Kaie’s eyes widen. “Yes, Kaie, I am blessed by Grace with strength. Your punishments will sometimes be much worse than you have felt so far. Knowing that now may give you pause when mischief ‘s afoot.”
The Trader walked over and put her arm around the younger woman. “Just for tonight, Kaie, I am going to take care of rubbing down the horses for you, and putting them away. The other nights, you will be in charge of Flame, until we get you one of your own. But tonight, you have been through enough. Go home to the Lodge, and I hope for your sake, you get some rest. I will see you in 2 days, when you will join me again for Patrol.
“Two days??!!” Kaie shouted. “I thought I had to do this every night!”
“Well, I think your backside could use a good rest, so I am giving you a chance for it. Now, it is up to you to not earn a spanking for some other reason, cause I am pretty sure you will earn a couple more than what you already have coming, on our next outing.”
Kaie ran to Caitlin and threw her arms around her. “You are too terrific, Caitlin! Thank you. Lady Alison will be so pleased.”
Caitlin couldn’t help but hug the girl back. Her infectious joy was too much for the usually staid warrior. Caitlin thought to herself, ‘Killian, you are right, yet again. I will have to find some way to reward you.’
“Ok, lass, two nights from now. At sundown. I expect you to be ready for a long hard night of it. Can I count on you?” Caitlin looked seriously down at her beaming charge.
“Absolutely, Caitlin. I won’t be late. I promise you.” Kaie couldn’t contain her glee.
“alright then, away with you. I want you rested by then. That is an order. Do ya hear me, lass?”
“Yes, ma’am, this lass will be well rested and ready to go.”
Caitlin chuckled as she listened the horses whinny their approval, as Kaie ran out of the stables.
(Part 8, by Kaie) --
Kaie staggered into the kitchens still wiping the sleep and the tears from her eyes. Goddess that woman had a hand made out of steel! At least she got to leave her breeches on for that last one, she was embarrassed enough at the ample wet spot she left behind on Caitlin’s thigh. Without the material between them she very well might have flooded the damned stables. Her backside still burning and throbbing from the last trip over Caitlin’s lap, she decided to skip breakfast and seek the two things she wanted most right now. A warm bed with some soft arms to snuggle her, and a good dose of that backside balm to ease the ache.
Despite the pain she couldn’t help smiling as she stopped to strip the thorns from the lavender rose she carried. Caitlin wasn’t the only one surprised by how fast Kaie could learn, she was amazed herself and was no longer thinking she would go through life with no skills other then thieving. She actually found herself looking forward to the next patrol and learning something else although the thought of another "sound" spanking at the beginning of the night was enough to make even her lose all appetite. Kaie thought of stopping to give Killy a good hug and thanks yous for her help but decided it was early still, and she heard the horror stories about what could happen when you woke her up too early. She settled instead for fixing up a nice tray of breakfast and carried it up the stairs with her.
Listening at the door, she could tell Killy still slept but she left the tray just outside. She knew Caitlin would be in soon to find it and she would have no trouble waking her love up for a little quality time after the long night.
That done she made her way to her own room and carefully stripped out of her clothes, wincing a bit as she pulled off the tight breeches. The idea of hot bath water any where near her backside was out of the question so she settled for using a wet cloth to wash away the dust and grime from her nights ride. Pulling on the oversized shirt that somehow never made its way back to Lady Alison she peeked into the hallway to make sure no one was up and about.
Finding the halls quiet and empty she made her way to Lady A’s door. She noticed along the way that Caitlin must have come up and found the breakfast waiting since the tray was now gone and she could hear muffled voices from inside their room. She pulled the piece of paper from her pocket that she prepared earlier and tied it around the rose before quietly entering.
She took note of the remains of a tray of breakfast beside the bed, scattered clothing, and two very exhausted women sleeping peacefully in the bed. She started in surprise at the severe marks that appeared to be healing from several days ago across Picifico’s back, and the deep redness on her backside. She winced, hoping that Lady Alison’s frustration at watching her own punishment the previous night hadn’t cost Picifico dearly.
With the skill of a thief she made her way into the bed without waking either of them. The rose she left on Lady Alison’s chest, its note held one single word, PLEASE. She didn’t have the heart to wake Lady Alison or Picifico yet, she could tell they had a long night themselves. Besides, she waited this long for her release and could wait a few hours longer, if she exploded now her body might give out on her for good.
Stretched out carefully on her stomach to avoid any contact between her well blistered backside and the sheets, Kaie felt herself slipping into oblivion. Even the throbbing wetness from her long teased center couldn’t keep her awake as the events of the night finally overwhelmed her. She felt a stirring next to her and one of the Warrior’s arms draped over her back pulling her closer as her eyes closed.
(Conclusion, by Killian and Caitlin) --
Killian sits at the head of her own bed, finishing a lovely breakfast brought by Kaie. Caitlin is naked, and presently soaking in a tub of elderberry scented bath water, her long jet black hair freshly washed by Killian, with a full belly, also thanks to Killian by way of Kaie.
"I wonder when Kaie will go back to her own room," Killian mused.
"Hmm, well I assume she leaves her clothes in that room, and she must want privacy at some point in that active young life of hers. Why"
Caitlin sunk down until only her head sat perched above the water. The Trader let out a deep sigh of satisfaction.
"I made her a gift, that I left wrapped on the head of her bed. From the sound of your night, it sounds like she will need my gift very soon."
"I see. Does the pillow have a large 'K' sewn on it, as yours had a "K" on it? How will you tell them apart? I know for a fact you still need yours from time to time, though I have really toughened you up over time."
Caitlin said this with more than a touch of pride in her voice.
"I sewed "Kaie" on the front, so there will be no mistake. But I put in much more pliable fabric than was around when my pillow was made. Frankly, I think my pillow needs an overhaul. I want Tris to think of it on her own, cause the thought of asking for it to be redone is embarrassing."
"Hmm, listen Killian, the least I can do is get that handled for you. consider it done. And I am sure Kaie will love her pillow should she ever return to her room and notice her own bed." Caitlin smiled. "Now, come here, I think you need some attention, up close and personal."
"You're all wet." Killian faked a pout.
"And so are you, I bet. Come here and let me find out miss, and make it snappy."
Killian dropped her robe and crossed naked over to Caitlin, who had climbed out of the tub.
"Give me your right hand."
"What?! No. I will not." Killian began to back away, only to be caught by a strong arm."
Caitlin pulled a struggling right hand to her nose. "Hah! Just as I suspected. Killian, Killian, Killian. What did I tell you before I left for Patrol."
Killian stood defiant. "Look, Caitlin. I don't have to do everything you ask. I am my own woman, and if I want to pleasure myself, at anytime, then I by Zeus, damn well will."
Caitlin Pulled Killian to her by her full head of golden hair. Pulling back hard on it, she claimed the smaller woman's mouth with a vengeance. She Kissed Killian long and deep, until the healer's legs began to give out.
Caitlin pulled Killian's face close to her ear. "Who did you agree to obey today, my Killian, WHO?"
Killian relented. She had agreed, freely to do as Caitlin requested, then couldn't follow through. Caitlin was right to call her on it now.
"You Caitlin. I agreed to obey you."
"And what did I say would happen if you dis-obeyed me, lass?" Caitlin's breath was hot against her skin.
"You told me I would pay dearly."
"Right. Get that larger switch by the wall, Killian, and bring it to me, then bend over the side of the bed with your legs spread, NOW."
