(Lord Sirius Leather)

Sirius was pissed, but took particular delight in Aria's efforts to evade Her. They had their own way of problem resolution. Sirius had no doubt the woman was not yet done. She wondered which human emotion Her lover would display next. The little blonde ex-assassin had a fiery nature and though it often chagrined the Dark Lord this indiscretions would have to be dealt with and settled. Sirius was old school. Some things were just not going to be dismissed. Aria was in pain and that pleased Sirius to no end.

(Lady Aria)

Sneaking up the back staircase Aria replayed Nessa’s words in her mind repeatedly… “Going to Sirius now is the easy way out.” “Going to Sirius now is the easy way out." Words easily spoken by someone that had never spent time with Sirius when she was not a happy camper, the Lady thought to herself as she slid down the hallway to her room. Aria’s heart stopped when she heard a door open behind her, before she could tell herself not to- she turned around to look at the offender. Breathing a deep sigh of relief Aria was pleased to find herself looking into the gentle eyes of kaie and not the black orbs of Sirius.

“Quickly Aria… come inside” the sweet young woman said as she opened the door more to allow the Lady access. Aria smiled and took one-step forward, then shook her head, lowered her eyes and stopped.

“Hurry Aria… this is risky, please come inside quickly.”

Aria just stood there feeling ashamed and awkward. This lovely young woman was going to hide her… kaie was going to protect the Lady Aria. In the blink of an eye, Aria went from the hunted to the hunter. She was Lady Aria and she did not run from anyone. The absurdity of all this ducking and weaving made Aria realize she needed to confront Sirius about her supposed crimes… immediately.

“kaie, dear heart, please know I will never forget that you risked life and limb to protect me… and you did, even if you do not realize it… I will repay you for this someday,” Aria said as she leaned in to give kaie a kiss on the cheek. The Lady then turned and walked towards the staircase and when kaie asked where she was going … Aria shot back over her shoulder “To see a Woman about a Bird”.

“Don’t you mean horse?” kaie asked now totally confused.

Aria did not reply, instead choosing to remain focused on her intended mission. Who was Sirius to have her scurrying around the Lodge like a scared mouse anyway, looking for refuge like a common street thief?

Why it was outrageous, Aria thought to herself.

The Lady knew altering Sirius’ letter was wrong, but she did so to avoid hurting a treasured friend’s feelings. Sirius was so damn hard around the edges and her demeanor scared far more than it soothed. Killian would have misunderstood the tone and the words and taken offense… where none was intended. Aria merely saw an opportunity to circumvent a problem. To head it off at the pass, as it were. Was that not the role of a good lover and friend, to protect those she loved? Many a time Aria had to assuage the hurt feelings of those silly enough to cross Sirius’ path then she was focused on something. While Sirius and Aria saw the Lord’s behavior as forthright and chivalrous…many saw her as unforgiving and egotistical. Was Aria wrong to want her S/sisters to see the many facets of the Dark Lord that she saw? Was it wrong for Aria to want to protect someone that was as loyal and tenderhearted as Killian?

Unwilling or unable to hide any longer the Lady headed down the staircase, it was time she had a little chat of her own with Lord Sirius.
